Roamer™ Bungee Dog Lead

I purchased two Roamer Bungee Dog Leases for our two standard poodles. The leashes are just right for extended on-leash walks. One of the dogs is very active walks/trots ahead while the other is contemplative and wants to deeply investigate every detail. The two 7' bungee leases allow them plenty of separation and independence and make it easy to keep the two under control. The leashes are a little heavier than you might expect but they are also heavy duty, so they feel substantial and likely to last a long time. No fear of failed clips unraveled handles. I highly recommend them for large and active dogs.

Right after buying the leash, we immediately took it for a test run on double and single track ridge run in the Wasatch Front. We were very pleased that we didn’t trip each other up with too loose a leash nor yank one of us off balance. It took a mile or so for my dog to adjust his heel to the pull of the bungee versus a slack regular leash, and to run behind me on the single track instead of out front. I got the shorter leash because he usually keeps a close heel and I was worried about getting tripped up. I clipped into his collar, but am thinking that the cooling harness might make our runs that much better.

LOVE this leash so much. They thought of everything! The tension is perfect. Great for everyday walks, and for hiking. Wish it also came in a longer length, like 11 to 16+ feet - I would get that one too.

This is the second Ruffwear Roamer Leash that I have purchased. The first one lasted several years. Both leashes have the same peculiar alignment issue. In my experience, these leashes tend to veer off of established trails. The leashes seem interested in following game trails, but are just as likely to lead you off trail into the forest or desert. They seem to be drawn to rabbits, lizards, deer, coyotes, chipmunks, quail... The bungee feature helps the leash to know when it's moving too fast. It can also help to keep your shoulder intact under extreme conditions. The ability to clip the leash handle around a tree branch, or a friend's ankle, keeps the leash from wandering off if you need to use both hands for something else. If you have a curious, adventurous nature, then a Ruffwear Roamer Leash is probably a good choice for you. Maybe all roads lead to Rome, but this Roamer may lead you away from all roads.
