Embrace the unpredictability inherent in any adventure with the Ruffwear Wind Sprinter™ Jacket. This ultralight, stowable windbreaker is ready for fickle mountain weather and unexpected temperature swings. Durable nylon ripstop fabric blocks blustery wind and a DWR finish repels light precipitation. Leg loops help keep the jacket in place as the wind whips, and a fold-up storm collar provides extra weather protection. The leash portal on the back allows this jacket to be worn over most harnesses. When the sun returns, simply stuff the Wind Sprinter into its collar and continue your adventure.

Wind Sprinter Jacket

Easy to put on my Cockerpoo, Henry and doesn't move about when in use! It keeps him perfectly dry whilst not making him too hot.

Didn't fit

The sizing does not fit a Spanish Galgo who weighs 44 pounds. The jacket is excellent quality, but unfortunately we returned it because of the fit. We tried both small and medium and neither worked for this small sighthound.

Nice!!!

Very impressed with the same amazing quality as all our Ruffwear. Great styling. Love that it can tugged into a little bag and tossed in their pack.

Very well made!

The wind breaker is amazing! We only wish it was a little longer on the back, but our boy is long and slender, so the next size up would be too big around the neck

Easily the most underrated piece of Ruffwear gear.

This wind jacket is probably the most versatile piece in my dog's (embarrassingly extensive) wardrobe. Think of it as an Arc'teryx Squamish hoodie for dogs. It can be worn alone from ~40F-70F comfortably for my dog, provides great protection from wind and light rain/snow, and packs down to a tiny size which is great for hiking and other adventures - this jacket is always with my dog! It also layers well over insulating pieces, such as the Powder Hound jacket (one of my favorite combos!) It is surprisingly water resistant - the top layer becomes saturated after time in the rain, but my dog is still totally dry underneath for ~30 minutes in steady rainfall. In fact, I can't say I've had this jacket wet out on him yet. The reason for four stars is as follows: the fit leaves something to be desired. I have a tall, leaner fella. He measures a 24-25" back, with a 26" girth. He does not have a very broad chest. I originally purchased his usual size, medium, which fits great girth-wise, and okay in the chest area, but falls short in the length. I am unable to use leg straps on it, because they make the chest area tight (not great for being active!) and the elastic cuts him in a way that looks totally uncomfortable. Without the straps, it (mostly) stays in place, except in high-wind conditions.. bummer. I went ahead and re-ordered the jacket in a large, which fits much better length-wise, but fits loose in the chest and girth areas. I am able to snug it up enough to work around his chest, but overall it is much larger than the medium. I wish there was a size in between! The roomy fit of the larger size is great for layering jackets under, and still works on its own, therefore I have opted to keep both (and at this point, I can't return the medium, it's currently caked in Adirondack mud). Otherwise, this jacket is almost perfect! TL;DR - Get this jacket, you'll wonder why you didn't buy it sooner. Definitely try two sizes on your pup if he/she is on the cusp of needing the next size up, though.
