Functionally, the harness is great no hot spots at all and fits true to size but I wish that the back leg loops had a bigger pocket because when they are stuffed in on the go the pocket doesn't sit right. The style of the harness is great, it looks comfortable and it keeps dirt and mud stains off. Protectively the harness is very secure but I wish that the use of the double back system was swapped for something more modern and easier to adjust on the dog, like the systems used on most climbing harnesses. I would also wish for metal attachment points that are weight rated versus the various webbing attachment points, though the webbing handle on the back is fantastic.
Excellent harness for taking your dog over rough or steep terrain. We were able to lift our dog up some steep rock faces and he was very comfortable in this harness during each lift. Worth every penny!
Thank you Clare! We are pleased you are a fan, Happy Trails!
the snowshoeing was great
bought the harness for north lake tahoe snowshoe trip with my 80 lbs Long Coat GSD; worked great! We used it on a trail run as well. Hideaway leg straps are cool, only take 'em out when/if needed. Dual leash attachment points allows for the pups to lead (snowshoeing) or follow (trail); there could be additional reinforcement around these leash attachments, he pole stopped at the end of the trail run, and the "rip-stop"... well, it ripped a little; though we were full run when we chose opposite sides of the pole. Overall great harness!
This is a fabulous harness for a disabled dog. Bryodi has a weak back end and is very ataxic but with the harness, we can support him to roam a bit around the yard and take care of his business, without having to stoop over. Fits well and seems comfortable.
Instead of rings & straps, you might have bayonet type connectors, like on a back pack. They would be adjustable, & much faster then getting an excited dog to stand still while the handler tried to loop straps under the dog. Just a thought.
